Have you met Jane, one of our amazing Bookkeepers? She has been with Nexis for 9 months and she provides expert bookkeeping and Activity Statement services for her clients, along with financial data for business reporting and compliance.
As a bookkeeper, her best advice to clients is keeping data entry up to date by doing a little at a time and often, which saves time and a bulk of work later. She is also all about communication between bookkeepers and their clients; not only does it make a big difference in the long run, but it helps move things along at every part of the process.
We spoke to Jane about what makes her tick.
Favourite place in the world?
“My favourite place in the world is wherever my family is and where I can spend time with them. My favourite place to get away is my family farm.
Even though there is lots to do, I’m always eager to get my hands dirty working with the sheep and driving tractors.”
What are you passionate about?
“I am passionate about family. I love spending time with them as much as I can. This last year’s COVID-19 pandemic has certainly made me miss my family in rural Victoria who I did not get to see as much.”
Best concert you ever attended?
“There are two, so it’s a tie! I took my girls to see Katy Perry and we were almost in the front row – so amazing. The second concert I loved was the 2Cellos. Those boys blew my mind with what they could do with their cellos.”
Craziest thing you have ever done?
“The craziest thing I have ever done is the slingshot with my husband in New Zealand. I am terrified of heights and screamed the entire time!”
Any secret talents?
“My secret talent that not many people know about is that I can sing. The talent no one knows about is that I am currently a level 25 Tenno (think space ninja) in Warframe.”
What is your favourite family tradition?
“My favourite family tradition is the celebration of birthdays (roast chicken and homemade cake with butter icing) and Christmas when the family can all get together to spend quality time.”
Morning person or night owl?
“I used to be a night owl reading until all hours, however, now that I have kids, I’ve become a morning person. It’s the only time I get 30 minutes to myself!”
